In proud partnership with one of the world’s most iconic global airlines, the Timex® x Pan Am® Fly-Back Chronograph celebrates the industry leader’s rich heritage of aviation. Featuring a 43mm stainless-steel case, we’ve channeled the precision, ergonomics, and unencumbered legibility all but required by early aviators as they took to the skies, incorporating a fly-back chronograph movement complete with leveled-down, fan-shaped sub-dials at the 4 o'clock and 10 o'clock positions with retrograde hands. A single press of the lower pusher instantly resets the chronograph to display the current time in the current lap without the need to stop and reset, and when the chronograph isn’t in use, the upper sub-dial doubles as a second time zone indicator. Mineral crystals use a similar material to windowpane glass and were developed for watches as a harder alternative to acrylic. Mineral crystals are still susceptible to scratches but less so than acrylic, however it is not possible to buff out these scratches as it is with acrylic. Mineral glass is not as shatter resistant as acrylic but does offer greater transparency and clarity. Due to their improved scratch resistance versus acrylic, and improved shatter resistance versus sapphire, mineral is often considered to be the best of both worlds as a crystal material.
