A Fresh Take on Retro-Futurism

Our Marlin Jet Quartz Chronograph captures futuristic design ideals of the ‘60s with understated details and a sleek 40mm brushed recycled stainless-steel case. However, its most defining feature is the domed crystal. Made from Hesalite—a refined form of acrylic favored for its clarity and ease of maintenance—the crystal covers the entire top surface of the watch case, enveloping the grooved bezel bearing the Marlin name and bringing captivating depth to the watch's retro-futuristic appearance. It blends seamlessly into the flat case sides, leaving only the lugs exposed. The case sides smoothly transition to a screwed-on case back that mirrors the crystal’s domed contour, enhancing the watch’s streamlined profile and space-age aesthetics. You’ll find a concentric circle pattern in three key locations on this timepiece: beneath the dome on the inner bezel, on the crown, and on the case back. The silver-tone concave dial showcases a tachymeter index for determining average speed, as well as a crosshair pattern punctuated with a date window beside the 6 o’clock marker and contrasting sub-dials. Completing the look is a brushed and polished recycled stainless-steel 6-link bracelet.

Acrylic Crystal

Highly impact-resistant

Acrylic lens are a specialised form of plastic akin to Plexiglass and were commonly used in early to mid-20th century watches. It is a softer material that can be more prone to scratches but conversely is very shatter-resistant. Given its softness any scratches though can be buffed out. Acrylic lens are synonymous with vintage-inspired timepieces and thus can be found on our Marlin and Q Timex collections.
