Enhanced durability
Mineral crystals use a similar material to windowpane glass and were developed for watches as a harder alternative to acrylic. Mineral crystals are still susceptible to scratches but less so than acrylic, however it is not possible to buff out these scratches as it is with acrylic. Mineral glass is not as shatter resistant as acrylic but does offer greater transparency and clarity. Due to their improved scratch resistance versus acrylic, and improved shatter resistance versus sapphire, mineral is often considered to be the best of both worlds as a crystal material.

"This is a lovely little watch. Ideally, I would have liked it to be a bit bigger as I don't have particularly dainty hands or wrists, but I knew the actual size when buying it and the "mini" in the name was an additional hint - so that's just an opinion rather than a complaint. I work Front of House across a few different performance venues and the Indiglo light paired with the very clear watch face is perfect for me checking if we've reached the latecomers point yet or if it's nearly time to go down to collect the half-time ice-creams as we're not allowed to look at our phones in the auditorium, customers are expected not to use their phones during a show so it'd be hypocritical if we did it."
