Mineral crystals use a similar material to windowpane glass and were developed for watches as a harder alternative to acrylic. Mineral crystals are still susceptible to scratches but less so than acrylic, however it is not possible to buff out these scratches as it is with acrylic. Mineral glass is not as shatter resistant as acrylic but does offer greater transparency and clarity. Due to their improved scratch resistance versus acrylic, and improved shatter resistance versus sapphire, mineral is often considered to be the best of both worlds as a crystal material.

"A really lovely watch. Very happy. Great clear off white face and not too big for my smaller wrists. The strap is comfortable/breathable and lots of holes, which is a bonus as I have smaller wrists. I would recommend that you ask the EVRI driver to get some glasses as he clearly didn't see the BIG label in bold red writing saying: 'Customers signature required. Do not leave unattended or with a neighbour. Do not leave in mail room. Please card the customer id not home' As the EVRI driver just left it on the doorstep! Thankfully it didn't go walkies."
